This year I have really explored all different brands of makeup, both drugstore and high end. I have easily doubled my collection but I have managed to narrow down my favorite products of 2013.
The Maybelline Color Tattoos are easily my favorite drugstore cream eye shadow. You can either use these as a base for your eye shadow or use it alone. Either way they work wonders on your eyes. They’re so creamy and they stay on all night long. I own four, but my most worn color is 70 Barley Branded, this is a tan champagne like color that looks amazing on the lid.
My favorite drugstore mascara is the Maybelline the Rocket mascara. Personally I use the waterproof formula. I love the way this makes my eyelashes look! The only down side is, is that it is very hard to get off, but I guess that comes with getting the waterproof formula.
The Rimmel Scandal Eyes waterproof kohl liner in nude is the perfect inner rim liner. The nude color is perfect for brightening your eyes and really making you look awake in the morning!
The Revlon lip butters are so creamy and super pigmented and that is why they made it into my favorites. They come in so many colors and they feel amazing on your lips!
This year I splurged a little when it came to high end products. I came across the two most perfect concealers. The MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. These are my favorite, the MAC Pro Longwear is perfect for under the eyes, it does not crease at all and with so many shades you can find the perfect brightening shade for your skin tone. The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is perfect for hiding blemishes. It blends great so it’s not obvious you’re hiding something and it stays on all day long.
To blend my concealer under my eyes I love the Beauty Blender. It is easily the best tool I bought of 2013. It makes your foundation look flawless and because you run it under water it hydrates your skin and makes sure you don’t end up looking "cakey". I clean my Beauty Blender and all of my brushes with the Solid Blender Cleanser and it makes cleaning your brushes so simple and easy.
I’ve heard so much about the NARS Orgasm (yes I know they have very interesting names) blush and Laguna bronzer but when I went to Sephora I couldn’t justify spending $30-$40 on each so I opted for the Orgasm/Laguna duo. It was the price of buying just one and this way I could really see if I liked it. Which I ended up loving it I think both the shades work for all year round and on any skin tones!
The Urban Decay NAKED Basics palette is easily my favorite out of the NAKED line. I love the neutral colors and the best part is almost all of the colors are matte shades so it is the most versatile palette.
2013 was easily one of the hardest years of my life but I’ve learned a lot from it. I cannot wait to see what 2014 has to offer and I hope you’ll join me on my journey! Thanks for reading!
