A Pop of Color

Top: Forever21 // Jeans: America Eagle // Shoes: Nike // Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Necklace: BaubleBar

Hello everyone! I love simple outfits like this, throw on a t-shirt, some jeans, and a statement pair of shoes and you're ready to go! Its important to keep the rest of the outfit very simple so the attention is all on the shoes. You can't go wrong with a soft white v-neck and a great pair of jeans! These shoes are definitely a statement piece. Some people will love them, others will hate them. But what matters is that I love these shoes, probably because they are bright orange! Orange is my favorite color and has been since I was in elementary school. I also like the bright green bottoms although I don't think they'll stay so bright the more I wear them. The view from my backyard is stunning, the clouds look so fluffy, and the sky so bright. I really am blessed to live somewhere so beautiful.

I decided to try something different and I filmed a video to go along with my post. If you enjoy it be sure to give it a thumbs up and subscribe! I'll have more videos up with some of my other posts also!

Curling My Hair

Hello everybody! I've been asked frequently how I curl my hair & what curling iron I use so I thought I'd let you all know! I use the NuMe Lustrum 5in1 curling wand. Honestly I think it is amazing! I have naturally really straight hair and I have a hard time curling it, but this curling wand does wonders for my hair! It comes with 5 different curling heads that you can switch out. I prefer the 32mm, it is the largest and it creates big voluminous curls. It also comes with a 25mm, 19mm, reverse, & pearl wand heads. The wand heats up to 410 degrees Fahrenheit in less than a minute so it is great if you have a lot of hair like I do & not a lot of time to do it. Because it gets so hot you need something to protect yourself from burning your fingers, luckily the kit comes with a heat protective glove. Although the glove is great at protecting your hand, it makes it difficult to grab your hair with the glove on, that is one downside to this kit. Other than that I love this product! I recommend picking this kit up for yourself or even a friend since Christmas is around the corner! I'm in the process of filming a video to show you all how I curl my hair, so look out for that!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Jacket: The North Face // Boots: Hunter // Hat: CottonOn // Umbrella: Totes

This week has been nothing but rain, these are my rainy day essentials that help me survive the downpour. My Hunter boots are the real savior. They are the best rain boots, keep your feet completely dry and warm! If you buy the inserts they're perfect for snow also! I've had my North Face winter jacket for over four years now and I love it! I keeps all the water out which is perfect if you forget an umbrella. It also keeps me super warm! A bubble umbrella is a recent add to my list. It is great when its windy because it keeps the rain completely away from your face, you're covered all around your face! Even though the rain isn't the greatest my necessities make the rain much more tolerable!

Expecto Patronum

Top: Forever21 Pants: American Apparel Shoes: Target Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs Wand: Harry Potter Shop

If you know even the slightest bit about me, you know that I love Harry Potter. Obsessed is a better word actually. I've read the books multiple times and I've seen the movies too many times to count. When I found this shirt I was so happy, I love it! I paired it with some high waisted disco pants that are so comfortable and super thick perfect for the cold weather. I found these loafers from Target and I loved them so much I also bought them in black! I had to top it off with my replica Dumbledore wand! A perfect casual fall outfit!

And don't forget...

Five Fall Must Haves

 Sweater: H&M // Fur Vest: Forever21 // Pixie Pants: JCrew // Scarf:Zara // Bean Boots: LLBean

For me fall is all about comfort & layers! I love to wear oversized sweaters, this one from H&M is perfect. It's oversized and has a huge turtle neck, perfect to stay warm during the chilly nights. Fur vests are a great way to spice up an outfit! Throw it over a flannel to dress it up. I've said it before but pixie pants are my favorite "legging" type pants. They are super warm and thicker than normal leggings. It is definitely worth picking up a pair this season! I fell in love with this blanket scarf from Zara! The colors are perfect for the fall and its lightweight but still warm. My bean boots are a fall / winter essential. Living in New England where it snows more than ever they're perfect! They keep your feet so warm and dry, great for sledding or shoveling the driveway. These are my top fall products, what are yours?

One great site I've been loving lately is raise.com. You can get discounted gift cards from some of you favorite stores! You can get 15% off H&M gift cards and pick up my favorite sweater for cheaper! Same with Zara, if you can get a discount on Zara you should take it, especially since Zara is pretty pricey! You can also sell your old gift cards that you don't want! Go check them out and get discounted gift cards from your favorite stores!

Milkmaid Braids

Flannel: Target (Men's Section) Similar Tank Top: Forever21 Here Leggings: Tobi Here Sneakers: Converse Here Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs Here

I love how quick and easy milkmaid braids are, yet it looks so complicated! I have been wearing them so much recently. I kept my outfit pretty simple to keep the focus on my hair. I paired my flannel from Target with a black tank top and some leather leggings. Topping it all off with my white converse. Just add a simple gold watch and my outfit is complete. I spent the day running around a carnival so I wanted my outfit to be comfortable which is exactly what it is. This flannel was so great once the sun set because it got so cold. It was so thick and I just rolled the sleeves down and I was nice and warm!

Herringbone & Curls

Shirt: Ralph Lauren // Vest : JCrew Here // Pants: BullHead Similar // Shoes: Hunter Here

I've finally done it! I finally died my hair blonde! If you know me well, you'll know that I've wanted blonde hair since middle school but I've never had the guts to do it, until now! I spent over 8 hours in the salon to achieve this color but I am so happy with it. Its not completely blonde & its not an ombre, my hair dresser had to paint on three different colors to my entire head to make it blend well into each other since the top of my head is dark but the bottom is blonde. But on to the outfit! I have been living in this vest or puffer vest to begin with! They are perfect for the fall / winter months!

Four Years

I cannot believe its been four years since we started dating. Those four years haven't been easy, but they've definitely been worth it. Through senior year of high school, separated our first year of college, transferring colleges, traveling to a different country, & moving three hours away, we have been through a lot. I would not have wanted to go through everything with anyone else. I don't know if I could have made it through these last four years without you, thank you for always being there for me.

Welcome October!

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."
 - L.M. Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables)

Hello everybody! I cannot believe it is finally October! It is starting to be my favorite time of year, which isn't fall like most peoples but it actually the months of October - December. These three months are always my favorite time of the year! Don't get me wrong, I love fall and all pumpkin things as much as the next girl but I love these months more than the season. It's holiday season, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year! It's all about family, friends  & good food for three months straight! October means that its getting closer to December which means I can start putting The Grinch on repeat everyday! If you know me well, you know that The Grinch That Stole Christmas is my all time favorite movie! I watch it all year round! My boyfriend hates it and refuses to watch the movie with me.

I have created my fall play list on Spotify, which is basically filled with acoustic soothing music. It just seems very fall like to me. Another great thing about this time of year is dark lipsticks! I love wearing red and berry lip colors and it is the perfect time of the year for them! This time of year the air is crisper which means wearing layers! I love bundling up with sweaters, vests, jackets, & scarves! I love how cozy this time of year is. I already spend my mornings curled up in blankets with my cup of tea, but now I can shut the AC off.

Halloween is just around the corner which means I need to plan out my costumes this year! Last year I went for more scary rather than the typical sexy costumes. I got a lot of compliments on one of my costumes and I really enjoyed it, although the hour it took to take all of the makeup off when I got home at night was not fun at all. This year I want to do something different, that people won't be expecting, but I am still on the hunt for a great idea! Let me know if you have any! It's now appropriate to watch Halloween movies everyday! Bring on the Hocus Pocus & Halloween Town marathons! I am also a huge Addams Family fan!

The month of October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women & 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer at some point in their life. This is a great time to donate to a good cause & get yourself checked. You can donate here at the Susan G Komen, a non-profit breast cancer organization.

As you can tell I am very excited for this time of year, I would love to know what you're excited about and what you plan on doing!
