Olivia Palermo - Get the Look (Guest Blogger!)

I've teamed up with two amazing bloggers to give you a complete guide to recreating Olivia Palermo's style! Emily from Flowers in Emily's Hair recreated her makeup look and Victoria from Glossy and Glitzy recreated her outfit. I recreated Olivia Palermo's classic curls which can be found [HERE] be sure to check it out!

Hi guys! I'm Emily from Flowers in Emily's Hair and today I am going to be recreating Olivia Palermo's signature brown smokey eye! Smokey eyes can be pretty tricky. It takes loads of practice. I hear all of the time, "I can't do a smokey eye, I look like a raccoon!" Girl, I promise, with patience and lots of practice, it is so easy. You will look like Olivia in no time!

Before you start the smokey eye, here are a few tips to remember:
- Always prime your eyes! This helps it last all day and not crease! Who wants a creased up smokey eye? Not me!
- Start with lighter browns and build up to the darker colors. This will help the blending process. By going in with a black, you'll look nuts and it wouldn't look as flawless!
- Be very light handed. Like I said, build up the color. It might seem like it is taking forever, but it will look better in the end!
- If you want to clean up the line from the outer v, lay down a piece of tape from your lower lash line to the end of your brow. Do your eyeshadow, then take the tape off and you'll have a perfect clean edge! Or you can always clean the edge up with some concealer!
- Don't give up! You could look crazy from time to time but it will all come together with practice!

Now with that being said, lets get started! To ensure you don't make a mess of your face makeup, start with your eyes!

I first took caramel from Anastasia Beverly Hills Maya Mia palette with a big fluffy brush and apply that in the crease using windshield wiper motions.

The biggest thing with smokey eyes are starting with a light hand and building up to the darker colors. I then took sienna from the same palette and applied using the same technique. You will look a little crazy during this part, but it won't for long! I then took deep brown (from the same palette) and patted it all of my lid up to the start of the crease. Then taking sable from the Lorac Pro Palette or any medium brown shade and put that right into my crease using a crease brush. Then blend, blend, blend! Blending is key!

Then, taking Mac Kohl liner in feline I lined my waterline. Taking a flat definer brush, I lined the lash line with deep brown from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Maya Mia palette. Lastly, I take sienna and blend the liner and deep brown out with a pencil brush!

Finish with Mac lipstick in angel and voila! You are Olivia Palermo..okay we wish. But at least you look like her right?

Thank you so much for letting me guest post, Kyla! I hope you all learned a few tips! What's your favorite Olivia Palermo makeup look!

As we prepare for the blizzard of the year, I decided to show you how I wear my winter whites! I love the way this turtle neck dress looks with a faux fur vest! They compliment each other perfectly! This dress is super comfortable and pretty thick so it is perfect for the fall / winter months! I paired it with my all time favorite gold accessories. White Kendra Scott Danielle earrings are a classic piece for your collection! They go with so much! You can never go wrong with a gold monogram necklace, I love mine from BaubleBar! I bought these booties about two years ago but I love the gold glitter detailing on the back! It adds a great spare to your shoes!

Burgundy Stripes

Similar Skirt Charlotte Russe // Vest JCrew // Similar Cardigan Macy's // Top Asos // Flats Target

Although it was absolutely freezing while taking these photos, I loved being back home and being back at my old high school. I wore this outfit on Thanksgiving this year and never posted about it, so I thought it was time. This striped skirt is an amazing quality and I was surprised since I bought it from Charlotte Russe. It is a thick sturdy material, it's perfect for the fall / winter (if you wear tights). If you live in frigid New England like I do, you're going to want to bundle up more than this.

These are the current products that I've been lusting after! I love the simplicity and how classic the Rachel Roy dress is, it would last forever in your wardrobe! The Isaac Mizrahi pumps are just beautiful! Every girl needs a pair of bright red pumps! The cape style turtleneck sweater is perfect for this cold New England weather! The berry shade YSL lipstick is a great berry toned lipstick! The Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit is extremely talked about, mainly the banana shade. It is a perfect color for setting your under eye concealer! The Mini Mab Tote from Rebecca Minkoff was on my wish list last year and it still is! Perfect color for the spring! I just don't think I'd get that much use out of it. I love this Kate Spade dish, its perfect for your necklaces and earrings on your nightstand! This lace dress is gorgeous, definitely one I will be keeping in mind for my upcoming birthday! These Stuart Weitzman boots are just life, I have been wanting a great pair of over the knee boots and these are a great pair! Within the next few months I hope to cross off some of these items off my wish list and put into my closet!
