Valentine's Day Ideas

Valentine's Day is only a week away, so its time to start planning! Although most people spend Valentine's Day with their significant other you don't have to have one to celebrate. Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate people you love, that could be your best friend, your sister, or your parents. Showing someone that you love them is what the holiday is really about. My boyfriend and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day with presents, but we do go out to dinner and spend the weekend together. This year we plan on making a nice dinner together. This is a great way to save money, especially when you are a full-time student like my boyfriend is.  Some other great ideas are:

Drive-In Movie: A really fun idea is to grab some great snacks and go to the drive-in! Grab some blankets and pillow and pile into your car, you get to avoid all of the crowds at the movie theater and be nice and cozy! You're able to see a great movie and be super comfortable together. If you don't have a drive-in near you, you can always go to a great spot and bring your laptop and grab a Redbox and watch it in your car!

Picnic Under the Stars: Pack dinner and dessert for the both of you, drive out to a field, and star gaze. My boyfriend and I love to lay on the trampoline during the summer and look at the stars. If you live in a colder climate go in a car with a sunroof or bring lots of blankets and hot chocolate!

Chick Flick Girls Night: You really can't go wrong with chick flicks, your girl friends, and some wine! Definitely wine! Because I won't be seeing my boyfriend on Valentine's day (we're celebrating the following week) I plan on spending it with some girlfriends watching the cheesiest romance movies that we all love!

I hope this list gave you all some ideas for celebrating Valentine's day!

  2. I wish we had somewhere to do a drive in movie. I think all those places died out so many years ago. But a picnic under the stars would be nice.

  3. I love drive in movies so much! We have one in the little college town we're living in and it's so fun to go to in the summer! It's always cheaper to go to the drive in and we can bring my pup! She usually sleeps in her puppy bed in the back of the car, but it is so fun to bring her along. Best of both worlds!

  14. I will be working an event that weekend but it is in a beautiful spot and my hubby will be there. We will picnic in our hotel room so we won't be in a crowded expensive resto!

  21. It is far too cold for a drive in or picnic here... but we are going to make a special dinner with the kids with candles and heart shaped food. Romance is SO much different after kids- watching my hubby do so much for our girls is the sexiest thing ever!

  22. I love all of these ideas. If I was single, I'd definitely have a girls night and get pampered then probably go out and spoil ourselves with lots of champagne!
