Full Face of Makeup; Drugstore Edition

I get a lot of requests to show more drugstore makeup, so I decided to do a full face of makeup using only drugstore products. Everything I used on my face is from the drugstore. Personally, I love drugstore makeup for daily use, but I stick to my high end for weekends and events. Drugstore makeup is affordable and nowadays it has been really great quality.

Starting with a base, I used my Maybelline Baby Skin primer, personally I don't find a difference in using a primer and not using one. But since I bought this one I've been trying to use it up! For foundation my favorite is Cover Girl's 3in1 foundation. I am definitely more of a high end foundation girl. But for the past six months I've been trying out different drugstore options. My holy grail concealer is the Maybelline Age Rewind, I seriously tell everyone to try this! It is one of the only concealers to cover my dark circles! I set my face with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in translucent. I have normal skin so this helps keep my foundation on all day long and prevents creasing under my eyes. The only drugstore eyebrow powder I've found that works for me is the elf Brow Kit. NYC Sunny bronzer is a cult favorite! It is great because it is a matte brown color, has no shimmer and doesn't come off orange on your skin! My favorite blush at the moment is Milani's bush in berry amor, this blush has a slight gold shimmer in it and creates a great healthy glow!

For my eyes, I always start with a primer. Like I said, I don't really see a difference in face primers but I can really see a difference in eye primers. If I don't use an eye primer my shadow creases a ton! It looks terrible! I've been using the elf Eye Primer which works great for everyday! I then went in with my Maybelline The Nudes palette. This palette is the best drugstore palette I've come across. The shadows are pigmented and creamy so they blend together great! For my kohl liner I use L'Oreal smoldering eyeliner, this is the best for your upper waterline and it doesn't transfer to your bottom waterline! For my lower waterline I always use a nude eyeliner, the Rimmel eye kohl has always been my favorite and I highly recommend it! I've been trying out different liquid liners lately, right now my favorite is the Maybelline Line Stiletto. I've always been a drugstore mascara person, I feel that mascara drys out super fast and I run through it more than any other makeup products so I don't like to spend $30+ on one tube! My favorite brand for mascara is Maybelline and I love almost all of their mascaras!

For my lips I used Maybelline's Warm Me Up, its a great pinky nude color! I've been wearing it non-stop lately!

  3. Beautiful! I have super oily skin so I'm always trying to find some inexpensive products that would work well for my face. I've never tried primer before... Do you think that would help at all?

    1. Thank you, I have pretty normal skin. a primer may help with your oily skin, I suggest using a matte setting powder also!

  8. I love those products! I've had great results with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I use a Milani blush that is almost a duplicate of a way more expensive blush that I bought for my wedding awhile ago (that one smelled like roses, though:) )
I love your overall look! So flattering. While there are some products that I do think you get what you pay for, as far as how long they stay on, the skill of application is important. You definitely have that. Too bad I can't buy that at the drugstore ;)

    1. I am with you! I have tons of high end products and some are eons better than the drugstore! I just save those for when I really need them since they are so much more expensive! Thank you so much for your kind words! xo, Kyla

  10. Really useful suggestions! I love mixing drugstore brands with higher end, too. And I am with you on the Maybelline mascara. I have tried loads of expensive brands only to return to the brand that I started with in high school - Maybelline. They just do mascara right!
