Getting out of a slump

It is pretty safe to say my blog, YouTube channel, and pretty much all social media accounts have been in a slump. I'd love to say it's because I've been so incredibly busy I haven't had the time to think about posting anything. Unfortunately, that would be a lie. I've been in a slump, a creative, unmotivated slump. Being in a slump is not a terrible thing but I do think it is important to recognize when you are in a slump and try to get yourself out of one. Here are my tips to help you get out of a slump.

1. Plan out your day and start fresh. Starting your morning with clear plan and mindset will help you move throughout the day getting everything you need to do done. - Starting the day with a task you've been avoiding is a great way to get it out of the way when you have all of your energy.

2. Get outside and get moving. I know for me, fresh air and exercise help me get into a better mood. When you've been stuck inside all day on your laptop you can easily become unmotivated and want to just crawl into bed. - Fresh air is always a good idea.

3. Make some changes. If you are used to spending your days the same way everyday then do something differently. Talk a different walk to work or get coffee at a new spot. The smallest change can help spark your creativity and help motivate you.

4. Reach out to a friend. Often good company helps a lot, if you’re just alone and keep playing the same things in your head, it’s really hard to get out of a bad/tired/anxious mood.

5. If nothing works, just have a cup of coffee and remind yourself it will pass. Be kind to yourself and don’t beat yourself about it.
